That post suggests that DM XP and Exploration XP shouldn't be factored in on death, but it is evidently not working as it should be

Here, after a raise, I end up losing not less - but actually more - than the old 1/6th of total XP.

Even before taking DM and Exploration XP into account, 27870 should have been the XP remaining after the raise. However, I ended up with slightly less, at 27648. In the past, following respawns and raises, I feel like I've also lost even more than I would have under the old system.

As far as his DM and Exploration XP rewards to date are concerned, it is fairly comfortably over the 15,000 mark I would guess. I'm not sure if I'm a unique case or not, but I suspect the new death system does need looking into.

It's because you rolled unluckily in that ritual and lost a huge amount of XP, which was counted as special XP, which means your special XP tally is negative.

Evil rituals...

Negative XP affects the final tally? That would explain it then. Following a character rollback, I had a substantial chunk of XP taken from me to simulate a death the backup hadn't suffered. On top of the ritual loss, I guess that might put me into negatives against all the gained XP.

Oh well.

Does XP loss from cure curse effect special XP?

See me sometime IG and we'll fix you up.

Eventually the system is going to be changed in its implementation...

No idea about the XP loss from curing. It shouldn't.
