PfE potion duration

I only noticed this for the first time last night, and will try and confirm it with a stopwatch, but has anyone else notice that the effect of a PfE potion is very short? I quaffed one and it's effects lasted minutes, rather than the full 15 I expected.

Since theres no level defined on them I can only assume the caster level is 1 and it's likely its lasting 1 hour per level by the standard nwn terms, which is two turns!

Potions are by default set at the minimum level required to cast and brew them, hence they are level three and should last three hours (or 15 minutes game time). This is definately not the case, from what I can see. If I am making an in incorrect assumption somewhere, I'll clam up and skulk away, but this doesn't seem right to me.

It should be ten minutes IRL, as most PfE potions have a caster level of two.

If its any less, it should be bug reported for sure!

You do realize by that assumption alone they should only last 5 minutes, not 15? ;)

Generally most potions are set by the minimum level required to cast them, yet certain special spells/potions do not always follow this rule.

Some protection from evil potions are set to caster level 3.

Some protection from evil potions (the ones where no caster level is shown) are just "Protection from Evil" which IIRC is caster level 1. So five minutes.

Gah, my bad. Yes, I am sure I wasn't dispelled, and the duration was no where near 10 minutes. I will test it again to be certain next time I log in (and hopefully get my gear back).

Unless someone else wants to burn a potion in the meantime. >_>

Edit: I wasn't aware of the different levels for various protection potions. Perhaps that is the case here.   =/

Yes. When the potion doesn't mention its level, it is casted as level 1 and therefore last 5 minutes! Very short.
