Yllasaadinatranna Svaneffini was created purely to learn and practice with tinkering as well as small alt character to play with while I was waiting for the result on my app for a new character.  But application was declined, I slowly continued to play and explore tinkering, slowly quested and gained levels. And then there happened point of no returning. Stranger's reporter invited my gnome to the Rumour Mill. And once I am joining to any associations, I am never leaving character until it is killed or something else. So, once my character joined to The Rumour Mill, everything got very serious. I started slowly to do Ringrunning, picking up rumours, stealthy follow people, listening what about other people whispers, and so on. I never wanted to play actually a reporter because (as usual) my gnome had negative charisma. Sometimes I tried to play a shy character. Sometimes I tried to play a very impudent character. So I was made not many issues and not was very keen on happening but sometime was doing small rumours when something major happens or just to show what some things happening and going around.



So, what was the personal goals of character? All boring and simple as it can be. Just be a master tinkerer. Though with time, many other characters was more talking about clocks and time in the City of Rings. From time to time some characters was approaching and talking about it. Someone was asking, someone was just interested to learn more. But I didn't was very interested in this. It leads to consequences. And because my gnome is shyly loner, it was clear to just avoid it. But and here happened something. Another point of no returning.  DeltaTime character (Thesputin Bobbyknock) with help of DM(s) invented(or recovered) new small god, Clocks Shadow. And suddenly, clocks and all talking about time become very important and had big meaning behind. It was not just "why it is forbidden?", there was big space for philosophy, something, what you can easily add to background of broken clocks. There was something important now, reasons why character can risk and do something that may bring terrible consequences or lead to even death. There was no just "let's do it and see what happen". So character got more strong goals. It is to try fix clocks in the Ticker Square.


But I decided what this task is not something that you must do quickly. It is not something you put many points in tinkering and trying grab DMs saying what you want to fix or make something. I carefully started collect many different things and making more things by tinkering. Study aspect of time philosophically, talking with few characters little about this and that, listening opinions and trying to see the full picture. Of course, my character not was very hidden about it. Because of low charisma character tried to attract more attention, tried look "better". Was often talking about new devices, about plans for new devices and showing different things to everyone when there was a good opportunity. So, I would guess, it wasn't hard to think what such good tinkerer soon or later will consider do something about clocks. But I was still trying do it very carefully. Not giving promises, not telling whole things. But slower with each step was moving towards the goal.


Character slowly was acquiring "critical mass" of important things and knowledge but I am almost never was turning away from possible perma-death events if that can bring something important, bring something what worth risking. Something what just very important for a character. I took part in a few perma-death events and not thinking about what if I will just die here. After EFU:R, I think, what I will always play risky than safely. Can this event ruin all character progress? Yes. Is that super important for character and she just can't ignore it? Yes. And I will always take part in it. It is what makes character alive, give more meaning to what character actually doing. So, as I was saying, character was slowly acquiring "critical mass" of things.


Character collected large amount of important things that may help progress toward her goal but one and only one thing I was missing. The Power Core. I knew what Abala long ago was saying what it is very exhausting to do this events and likely there not going to happen anytime soon but, I guess, I was just lucky what Abala was in the mood for this. (Thank you, Abala) I knew what probably my character has almost everything for goal, almost just what is needed for the final step but the Power Core item was attracting more. I was a long time considering should my character risk everything for one thing. And of course, in end we all know what I risked. And if even my character died, I would honestly not regret this.


And once everything was prepared, my character made a final step. Of course, it is all sadly spoiler-spoilery but there is an important thing, yes. My character was enough successful to actually even continue to play and do more things but I decided what that was just enough for character. Yes, there is more potential was, more goals to acquire, more things to do but it was felt what it was enough for character. What someone else should continue to do this, someone else should dig deeper. And I decided to retire character.
Oh, and small comment about Ringrunning.
Furthest:  Ring 76
I want to say, what very big things may very easily happen all in Ring 99th and close to it. Sometimes it is not needed to have access to all this nice looking ring to grab little pieces of lore from different parts. Everything can be done and not leaving very far. At some point I was somewhat bored at Ringrunning. Was casually walking back and forward, meeting sometimes other groups and talking with them, it was funny, yes, and probably my character had chance and opportunity to do ringrun even deeper, but I liked what my character was doing and liked to stay in Ring 99th.

Thank you very much to all DMs and players with whom I was playing and somewhat influenced on my character.
I am often read what my character was interesting and liked by many, I am honestly surprised. I think what sometimes I played badly her, what there was moments that I could do better. But nonetheless, it is pleasant to see what such a simple character with simple goal was interesting to observe and interact with.
I have of course many concepts and ideas, so I will try to keep quality and play something interesting!

Yes, as 10th level rogue perk, I took skill mastery to represent how good my character at tinkering. And yes, I have this two silly skill focuses. Search to represent her background as "scumpicker" and "craft trap" to show her trainings in tinkering.
One of loot which I can't show was two very notoriously rings of Tomb Robbers or Tomb something. Yes. These two rings can be acquired in-game, so seek them!
Other DM loot though I can show and they all was somehow connected with tinkering.

I know same can happen if you in wildshape enters in tinkering workshop in Commons.
It indeed puts a character in endless action loop, even trying canceling action or moving by DM not helps. Only being ported to another area by DM helps to Escape From Unlimited action loops. And entering back in bugged area in not wildshape.

Druids have low reflex save progression. I am a great fan of using different wildshape forms for different situations but this was taken out from wildshape, that is why I am making a suggestion to adjust feat.
Web spell and entangle spell have similar entangle effect on failed save and it is a bit silly what this feat does not protect from very same effect if that comes from different sources.
From description of tanglefoot bag:
The round, small leather bag is full to bursting with an alchemical goo. Once exposed to air, the goo becomes tough and resilient, able to hold a creature in place for up to 2 rounds.
It is not just some net but a goo. Though I agree with what druids can use FOM spell to avoid it but they do not have good spellslot progression(also made about it another suggestion here) and usually 4th spell slot going for stoneskin.

Currently, Woodland Stride feat gives immunity to spells such as grease, web and entangle but this feat does not protect from tangle effect which comes from different sources such as tanglefoot bag, on-hit effects/attacks, special abilities(like spiders and their web bolt), effect from items and so on which makes druids very vulnerable against things what they supposed to have immunity. Previously druids had form which granted such immunities but form was somewhat nerfed.

Bumping this suggestion to see if that still can be considered.
As an alternative, if it is possible to do, perhaps additional spellslot can be made for special druid perk/special kit which will disable their ability to wildshape but will grant +1 to all summons like clerics with animal domain have and make summons as spontaneous spells for this perk/kit.

I think this whole place has all great potential and space to become fully and properly one of associations, small but association just like what happened with Prospectors. Some minor goods in first room which everyone can see and buy and big good cookies for full members and some shop for favour points as well equipment.

Some idea for gnome small god. I noticed what on EFU gnomes not only engineers but are cooks. So, trying to make something original around that.

Domains: Knowledge, Magic, Gnome, Nobility, Healing.
Alignments: Any neutral.

Neshkhart von Kohlbosbarrwin in past was a Small God of magic and alchemy but he found recept of the philosopher stone of the perfect pie which changed him greatly but nobody knows or remember his past there only few clues what suggest what this small god have some minor connection to magic as well. Now he is remembered as Small God of gluttony and cooking. It is believed what Neshkhart divided his The Perfect Pie on thousands of pieces to share it with everyone and the first one who was gifted with a piece of the Perfect Pie was a gnome.  For some odd reasons only gnomes do remember well this tale(or they was just made this tale by themself). At first, it was not popular Small God but few notorious gnomes took seriously in the path to achieve the divine recept of perfect pie, with time such attitude toward food and cooking become more popular among gnomes and some other races. To seek perfect and different tastes and share it with others. Where is a feast - you can hear praises to Neshkhart. Best taverns always seeking gnome cook who follows Neshkhart and his teachings.  Though, sometimes followers of this Small God sometimes go too far. When others die from hunger, others will eat and eat, in constant search for new feelings and tastes, they forget to share any food with others and become addicted to food. And of course, it can go so far what evil followers may try to enjoy meat of humanoids. In general, this Small God is praised and remembered when one is cooking or family gathered around a table full of food. When one is enjoying wealth and food. When one seeking new feelings and decided to find it in food. And at some point, it is hard to stop eating and seek the divine recipe.

Nice suggestion to add another hostile swampy-wood area for evil guys with stronghold!
I can see such cool things made after adding a new underwater area in Ring 97th, the canal. Which can be used to move between different areas(like trash island and other areas) but get high chances to catch a disease or attacked by alligators. Or even some sneaky lizardfolks?

I see it as a simple alternative option for characters just to make quests and do pure PvE. Doing Ringrunning, for me, is like playing a singleplayer nwn module with friends. Yes, content repeats, yes, if you die - you will need to repeat it again. Yes, some things depend on random numbers, some things just very hard for casual players. And it is important to contact other people OOCly and find crew with the right timezone.

But rings exist and it is very huge work and many many spent hours in toolset. Maybe with time, some content will be less hardcore as it now, maybe at some point more people will have the opportunity to complete quests and puzzles and see more areas. Ringrunning not perfect but it is a unique experience in nwn and DM-team worked very hard to make this thing live.

Ticker Square Citizenship Paper idea sounds nice in general. I like the idea what the Merchant Guild can take even more gold to give some not much meaningful papers what perhaps can give you a few bonuses and puts your character somewhere between dirty awoken and respected a memember of the Guild.

What another important thing I have to suggest - it is to add one or two alternative routes between Ticker Square and Commons. Hatch into Drips in one of alleys? Hidden Door/Hatch?  Something that perhaps can use small-sized races? Something limited to few classes? Something for a gold? Many options surely but it was many times pointed out in Discord what when it comes to pvp, Ticker Square is a great fortress with a single rout. Knaves, thieves and other sorts of outcasts/monsters characters always making their way through Open Door.

Sisterhood of the Twilight Star.
Unusual mercenary group gathered by mystic halfling sorcerer who is rumoured was born when odd comet fell somewhere in the City. It's said their captain still holds a shard of this comet. More like some little weird cult but still, they taking contracts from the Merchant Guild from time to time, to visit or do excavation in magical places in the City or somewhere in Seams.

I think what Richørd is right regarding power of wizards and power of spellslots what they can have from chosen school regardless of how mechanically bad it is. Still, for low level environment each spell slot matters! I agree what nwn very bad dealt with school things and wizards and I never saw what anything was done about in other nwn places.
But what can be done in EFU then? I think it is simply adding/suggesting more different/interesting spells that will fill up schools that have few or not useful/popular spells.
And perks should stay in sorcerers hands in my opinion but your suggestion about unchained wizard perk sounds very cool and I hope maybe we will see something like that in the future!

The same monk store was moved just in a different place but still in EFU.

And I agree about what monk stances drops far less often than it was before. I think it is not a bad idea to make merchant with random stances. Otherwise, I think the best solution to make sure what quests will start drop stances more often,

I liked read his books, it is sad to hear about what happened.
It is hard to not give up when things go slow or dead, I can understand. It is good what you will work on any "mistakes" and will do something that will play better!
