I'll be taking an extended break from EfU for some time.  Me and my wife had a child a lot earlier than she was scheduled to arrive, so there's no time for EfU at the moment :)
Congrats!

Thanks <3

Suggestions / Re: Nerf orb spells
August 27, 2020, 02:06:53 PM
Re-visiting this after an encounter with an orb spam.   If they are meant to deal with high reflex classes, why not make a save, but a fort save for half damage?  This way you can at least stand a chance when you get hit with several of them in a PvE environment?   Even if a PvP environment, it may be too strong, being a decent range, stun AND no way to avoid the full damage.   So adding some kind of limit ot it seems necessary, and a fort save for half damage may be the answer.

Bjarney started off as a naive, chaotic good wannabe hero.  From her realm of frozen seas and terrible winters, she was used to the hardships like those in the rings but what she couldn't deal with in the end were the politics and their corrupting nature.  Going from a starting point of Chaotic good to ending at chaotic evil, it's fair to say that she deserved it.  She was recruited to house Nephezar by Beastbane Baxter and earned at least some level of infamy alongside him.  From thrusting a lying Blackjack's face into a pit of fire to often standing up for the downtrodden, it's safe to say she was very unpredictable in her behaviour, from friendly to hostile, you'd never know which side of her you were going to get.

She went into retirement after the last of her friends died fighting the beastmen, broken and disgruntled.

She had a few pieces of DM loot, but there were my favourite ones.

Suggestions / Re: Item dropping from bundles etc

I think it's an EE issue that instead of dropping the items you're picking up, it drops your inventory items instead

One of the doors, the one directly across from the entrance into said quest, is locked and there is no way to open unless you have a lockpicker in the party.  Knock doesn't work, crowbar doesn't work and there is no key to be found on the quest.

REQUIRING a lockpick is pretty punishing, as knock doesn't work on it.

Having hit the wall of waiting for lady luck to bring you the path through to the challenge itself, several times, i figured i'd suggest a minor change (or more of an alternative so to speak).

Having to wait for the path to spawn for you can take several resets and with the element of luck involved outside, it can be quite an annoying wait for all involved, since you can't leave the place without having to re-aquire your key.

I propose an alternative path that is harder, perhaps even MUCH harder, to go through, but can be done by parties who wish to take the risk of doing so, if the path towards the challenge does not present itself.   I think this would be a more fun alternative than bugging the poor DMs to spawn a transition to it (even if several DMs have specifically said they don't mind doing do if people are prepared to take the challenge).  I love the challenge itself, i don't so much love the waiting around and hoping everyone in the group can make it when it does appear.

TL;DR
An alterantive, much harder path through the *spoiler* tunnels if you don't luck out with the normal one, that is always present, and would be optional (and come with a warning perhaps).

Suggestions / Re: Changes to Phantasmal Killer
August 07, 2020, 06:01:50 PM
I don't think that a level 4 insta kill spell would need to be made any better than it is.  Sure it's the most easily saved against (and immunity giving) death spell around, but it's also accessible at a crazy level 7.  Anything that'd make this spell stronger in any way is a bad idea in my book.  Only way it could be justified would be if it brought the target to 1d4 hp instead of subdual, because subdual is effectively the same thing as death in the vast majority of situations.

I hate, HATE, losing levels to deaths, especially shitty ones.  Then i get salty for a few minutes, annoyed for a few more, and then i realize that the harsh death system is one of the reasons i play here.  Danger and the risk of losing levels, or even your character, is what makes things rewarding in the end. My (admittedly humble) opinion.

I will be gone for at least a week, probably 2-3 weeks, due to moving between countries.

I think reducing the number of casters with this spell would be ideal, even if it means replacing them with strong melee ones.  It sucks to get blasted down without even the chance of surviving if you get crap luck and get targeted by multiple casters with this spell at the same time.

I sort of agree. Though at the same time, I've known pcs who have basically logged in everyday looking for specific gladiators in order to complete their deck. So if you're down to a few gladiators left, it might be helpful for those messages to remain.

If possible, my suggestion was that those message still remain in game.

The suggestion is to remove the ambient messages that Gladiators generate from appearing in the Discord while still keeping them in game.  If that is possible.

I suggest this because I've noticed twice now, and another person i know has seen it at least once, in the last 3 days that once a sending for a Gladiator goes out, people have logged in in the arena area, seen a gladiator has been "taken" and immediately log back out.  It's starting to remind me of MMO "spawn camping", where yo just wait in a spot and wait for a certain spawn to appear.  While fine to do in game, it feels a bit off that people can just hang around Discord, see a gladiator announcement, hop on, fight and immediately log back off.
