Well! Eden's met her end—first dramatically, and then not so much, but such is life on EfU.

This character was a lot of firsts for me (including my first obituary post, I think?!), even after playing EfU as long as I have; she was a joy to play, and I got to play with some excellent players and characters along the way.

The concept wasn't a particularly complicated one: I just wanted to play a "good witch," invested in healing and herbalism and who really loved her friends and tried to do the right thing. That ended up being quite a whirlwind I embarked on, without even really realizing it.

My first time ever to 10 on EfU (and my first time ever playing a druid, thanks to some DM intervention):

My first time ringrunning (made it to 66!):

I'm not great at remembering to take screenshots, but a couple nice pieces of probably-familiar flavor loot with some tasty attributes I'll take to my grave:

And I guess it wouldn't be a Wombat PC without a little heartbreak:

To the players of Alciede (</3), Morik, Miriam, and Angela, and to Stranger for Sathiel's influence on a character I had no idea I'd end up enjoying so tremendously: thanks a ton. I look forward to playing with all of you again soon.

I can't stress enough how much I enjoyed playing Eden; more than even I realized while I played her, I think. In a lot of ways this PC helped me fall in love with EfU again. For the moment, I'm a little sad, so I'll be taking a bit of a break to avoid the bitterness—but I always find my way back.

A little outro witch flavor for the road, courtesy of my boy Ironside:

See you soon, EfU.

Off into the wild for a break, once I wrap up an obituary post.

I don't have a screenshot, as it was several weeks ago (I did ask about it in #ask-efu-dms), but I can echo this also happened to me when completing the Reliquarium.

Suggestions / Re: An idea for Barbarians

While I do agree some barbarians are certainly less than barbaric—often, even—it's a slippery slope.

Bards, for example, are frequently played in a manner a lot of people don't find particularly "bardic."

I agree on both points, to an extent. You should roleplay what you've chosen as your class, however you interpret that and with room to put your own unique spin on bringing your concept to life, without completely overwriting the foundations of your class; you also shouldn't need DM oversight or strict guidelines to do so.

SgtWombat reporting for duty.

(I'm back and playing actively after quite a break.)

General Discussion / Brief Apology
December 16, 2018, 06:02:32 PM
It's come to my attention I said something offensive IC to another player while questing; obviously that person's anonymous, but I just wanted to say I earnestly misunderstood the word I was using in an effort to be humorous and didn't mean (and would never aim) to make anyone uncomfortable.

I've been offended a couple times in my decade or so on EfU, so I do know what that's like and it sucks. We can all be wrong sometimes and I think accountability's a good thing.

If that player happens to read this, you have my apologies.
